Maybe I should finally do an #introduction
Hi my name is Arne, I'm a programmer with an eclectic set of interests. I'm mainly active in the #clojure community, and before that in #ruby.
I used to make screencasts on https://lambdaisland.com (all free to watch now). Nowadays I run a Clojure-focused consultancy and agency, https://gaiwan.co .
I do a lot of #opensource , most notable the Kaocha test runner, but also several dozen other projects that people use in production every day. Much of this we now maintain with the Gaiwan team.
I grew up with the web and with open source, my first browser was Netscape 1.0, my first Linux was Red Hat 5. Just to say that I've been around for a bit. I do a lot of different programming but I'm a #webdev at heart. I care about an open web based on open standards.
I've done a lot of #traveling, lived in five countries, and speak five #languages. Now I'm back in my native #Belgium. Oh and I love #tea (that's an understatement). Nice to meet you!
@plexus fellow Ruby-ist here! What did you work with in your Ruby days? Rails, or something else?
@justomar all kinds of things. Professionally it was mostly rails. In the early days I was involved with Nitro/og, but that hasn't been around for a while. Sinatra for anything smallish. Shoes for fun stuff.
I developed a bunch of gems as well, Yaks in particular is pretty cool

@plexus hey, that's awesome! Just went through your gems. That's not a small number of downloads!
It's mostly web servers / APIs in Rails for me even for the small stuff. I'm trying to explore other use cases and frameworks.
@plexus Welcome! Love Clojure and wish I could get back into using it for a living. :-)
@plexus oh great to read your description and learn you are in Belgium, maybe you'd like to join us for OFFDEM this year.
