One lucky donor will get my embroidery of SFC's logo.
Any guesses as to what type of fruit is on the tree? Hint: ____ programming.
Today is the **last day to donate** to the @conservancy fundraiser

Your donations sustain our work on @outreachy With your support, we can build the next generation of #OpenSource and #FreeSoftware leaders.
In a time when DEI programs are being shut down, it is essential we do not allow diversity and inclusion in open source to back slide.
Please donate today.

Software freedom behind the scenes sneak peak #1:
Did you know that @outreachy provides coaching for #OpenSource communites who want to mentor newcomers to FOSS?
Outreachy helps communities improve their onboarding processes, encourages inclusive community culture, and helps uplift newcomers into long-term open source leaders.
As Outreachy's mentor advocate, Tilda Udofo is both the first line of support for mentors, and is also the voice for change in Outreachy to better support our volunteer mentors. Tilda brings invaluable experience as both a past Outreachy intern and a past mentor.
Tilda's work to improve FOSS communities would not be possible without the support of @conservancy Conservancy contractors like Tilda are essential to improving FOSS.
Please donate to sustain a bright future for Software Freedom:

Software freedom behind the scenes sneak peak #2:
Good ideas can come from anyone. Listening to and uplifting voices who are often ignored is one of the key values of @outreachy
There are so many ideas that have improved the Outreachy program that have come from Outreachy applicants and interns.
One idea was to have a chat server for Outreachy participants. Interns wanted this so they could connect to other interns. But it also helped mentors too!
The Outreachy chat server helped break down silos between different #OpenSource communities.
Mentors from one community would ask on the Outreachy chat how to handle a newcomer onboarding issue, and the next thing you know, three different communities are sharing best practices and helping each other overcome challenges.
The collaboration and knowledge sharing spirit of the FOSS community is what sustains me in these hard times. That's why it's important to me that @conservancy continues its mission of supporting software freedom.

@sphakos @conservancy @outreachy Those photos reminded me of some of my favorite photos at FOSDEM 2024. The second one is one of the most important to me because it was Ana Rute's lightning talk on GSoC and Outreachy that encouraged me to apply to Outreachy—and there she was, years later, watching our keynote at FOSDEM!
