So... I started a collective! 😺
WAMPUS is a queer/and/or transgender collective that works to meet the basic needs of our community in Portland, OR. We supply weekly food servings, housing support, self defense classes, and education. We have grants in the pipeline, but we have a few minor costs to cover in the meantime.

If you do, is there some way to assure that the donator's (admittedly probably small) donations aren't just being spent on hookers and blow?
@icefox I do not have a patreon, but we do have a paypal. Our collective voted to legally form into a corporation and we have bylaws that force accountability.
Other than that you just gotta trust me at this point. I'm meeting with a potential fiscal sponsor on Monday and we may have a 501c3 donation ability at that time.
@polymerwitch my inner nerd cannot move on from this until I say that Wampus is also one of the four house of Ilvermorny. I'm sure you know that. As a student of human services I also find this a spectacular use of social media being used to further basic needs services. I hope this works out.

we decided to be a for-profit b-corp that we collectivize. As the work is being done by queer and trans folx we believe that our members should be paid for their work, but in an equitable and fair way.
