even if i had the money to move me and everyone i know, it doesn’t solve anything: it does not house the tens of thousands unsheltered in my city alone nor feed their children. this is a systemic, structural problem that requires much more than individual acts.

Systemic — yes. But I didn't mean an individual decision — the tens of thousands of people instead.
If those, who're willing to move out, but can't even afford a scrap of desert (or taiga…), are numerous, it may be the root of the problem. But the subsidies for farmers are exactly about that, aren't they?
