@polymerwitch I'm not familiar with the genre of each instance. I joined this one b/c I liked the name and it wasn't full 😅 Is it possible for a user to access instances that aren't federated to this one?
@TRAVI5TY I can adjust it so users can see folks from those nodes iff they follow them. I'm open to discussing changing any domain blocks. just want to make sure I get consent of the user base.
one thing to note is that we do federate with many instances including awoo.space that only federate with a few instances

@TRAVI5TY for real tho, this instance is in it's infancy and one of the goals is community governance. We don't have many procedures yet for that, but please do ask if you think the domain blocks should be adjusted

@TRAVI5TY the federation sync is just slow sometimes, depending on the other servers. And I think there are discussions to de-federate with certain instances/nodes (https://toot.cat/@polymerwitch/6022).

@TRAVI5TY a subtlety to this: my understanding of it is that you won't see things from other sites on the federated timeline unless someone on tootcat is following that person, causing their toots to get pulled to tootcat.

@TRAVI5TY we are connected to most. we are. currently blocking a few gnusocial instances as they have policies that allow gore and such.
is there an instance we are not federated with that we should be? I can reach out to their admin and get clarity on their policies. I just don't want the the federated timeline to fill with CoC violations
