Watching #Lost for the first time now, I regret not being able to follow it live at the time and being able to discuss and theorycraft with everyone else as the series unfolded...
@FiXato Gah.
Most. Overrated. Show. Evar.
I watched two episodes in full: pilot and 2nd season opener. Fragments of others, plus followed discussion both in media and with friends who watched the show.
Rapidly realised:
These are people in a bad situation trying to make it worse. (Sadly, that might have proved useful for me in later real-life situations, personal and more widely.)
Screenwriters were obviously Just Making Shit Up, far more obviously over time after the 1st/2nd seasons.
Narrative crack. The storyline is designed to be addictive.
No fucking resolution. I hope it's not a spoiler that the conclusion utterly fails to tie up any threads. It just ends.
Mind: great acting, cinematography, casting (including eye candy), and piecewise scriptwriting (that is, individual scenes, if not episodes, seasons, and series, hold together). But it is TV written to be addictive, even intellectually addictive, with no other redeeming values.
@FiXato I enjoyed the show, but be prepared for getting no closure whatsoever!
