Lo spunto iniziale del #film era che degli extraterrestri avessero ricevuto e compreso (male!) il messaggio inviato nel 1977 dalla missione #Voyager, che ancora trasmette dati alla Terra. Quell'ambasciata fu scritta (in collaborazione con #CarlSagan) da #JimmyCarter morto ieri a 100 anni. Ecco la differenza tra uno statista che ragiona su come interfacciarsi con pianeti sconosciuti ed un politicante che vive alla giornata

with Jack Quaid aka Bradward Boimler. And it's fine, OK. Boims is very naïve and young, and Mike is an annoying very jaded old jerk (younger than me but he looks like a corpse powered by cheesesteaks).
But at one point "I don't want more stoner jokes". Wow do they not read my room. I want Cheech & Chong in space utopia, man. Quark tried a bit, but it's too serious.

I #watched #GalaxyQuest - of course I've seen this 100s of times before and I'll watch it 100s of times again. I just never wrote a review for it so adding it to the pile. Its seriously one of my all time favorite #films. Do yourself a favor and just watch it

I worked at blockbuster when this came out and so I watched it. A fan of Tim Allen sold me. I didn't like it at first so when I got back to work I said as such. I was then informed that it is NOT a sci fi film. Its satire that happens to be sci fi. So when I went back and watched it again knowing this I instantly fell in love. This really is a top tier film tho. I'm glad

I'm catching up on your journey - endlessly fascinating - and wondered if the @weirdfolks had spotted the intersection between #GalaxyQuest (mentioned in one or two of your toots) and 2010s US TV series #PersonOfInterest?
Mob kingpin Carl Elias bears a striking resemblance to Thermina leader Mathesar, don't you think? Perhaps because both were played by Canadian Enrico Colantoni.
This definitely seems the place to come out as loving both film and series
