offering obsolete X terminal computer hardware
I have three ~20-year-old X terminals (Tektronix/NCD NC200) which I'd ship to you if you're into obsolete computing hardware. I haven't plugged them in for ages but I did get them to work once upon a time, and it should still be possible to use them with modern X applications. It's also supposed to be able to run Java 1.1 applets via "Netscape NC Navigator", a bespoke browser build, but I never tried that.
The required OS image, which has to be served over the network, is still available from the current owner of the product line, and I've saved a copy just in case: http://www.thinpathsystems.com/index.php?modules=support&content=patches&pro=ncb (That's labeled a "patch" but it actually contains the entire system software.)
Somebody's notes for configuring a similar product for use with Linux are at http://bio.gsi.de/DOCS/NCD/xp200_linux.html and there's general advice on the required network environment in several of the old Linux HOWTOs:

@donpdonp yeah, I should ping them, you're right. I think there are a few people around the fediverse who learn a lot from setting up old stuff themselves, though, so I'm also open to hearing from them.
