@ddipaola @lifning The story of the "Morris worm" is pretty fascinating. My favorite part is imagining how hard his dad, who worked for the NSA, must have face-palmed. It's also kind of fascinating to consider that the first person ever convicted under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act is now being looked up to as a Silicon Valley leader.
There's a good book that tells this story, and covers Paul Graham's role in it too, but I can't remember what it's called.

@jamey btw I'm doing an olduse.net special event on Nov 2 where we watch the morris worm take down usenet in real time.
Probably it will consist of a lack of any messages to read, and then some ranting by admins. I'm sure it will be riveting.
