this morning Sleep was on the radio and my wife told me "this is just heavy Phish". my initial reaction was "how dare you" but then I thought about it and she's pretty much right.

Glad to see some people forking Aseprite from the last free software release. The Asesprite dev pulled a bait and switch and went proprietary right after I finished packaging it for Guix, which was quite time consuming btw. So I'm bitter about it. Fuck proprietary re-licensing.

I was hoping this snare sounds as good as it looks and it does. Spent about 5 minutes tuning and it sounds great even with the mediocre stock heads it came with.

I've got all the pieces for my drum set... except the drums part. which is the part I splurged on. it is part of some inventory fiasco and still hasn't shipped because the store I bought it from online (last Monday) sold the only one they had left in their IRL store at the same time, so it's coming straight from the manufacturer. but they have their own issues and have delayed shipping. it's supposed to ship today, but will it? we'll see.

if progressive policy can't even pass in MA, where can it pass? I feel like every day I lose a bit more hope in one day living in a country that isn't such a trash fire.

the MA supreme court rejected a ballot question for a millionaire's tax. very disappointed. if it were allowed on the ballot and passed it would have increased taxes on income past $1 million, bringing in about $2 billion a year to be used on education and transportation.

MA is known for frequently having a Dem supermajority in the House and Senate, but a Republican Governor, and lots of people see this pattern as an inevitability. But Baker seems to have won in 2014 due to low Dem turnout. If turnout is high for the midterms, we can kick out our "moderate" who won't stand up to Trump and defunds or level-funds transit and education.
