following trump's lead, pennsylvania republicans straight up didn't seat a democrat whose election was certified by the state because the republican has brought the matter to federal court. when the lt gov, who I guess presides over the senate, objected to it, a party line vote was held to remove him from the chamber. democracy is very alive and very well in the good ol us of a folks.

obviously it's not going to work for the presidency, but it's being used and will likely continue to be used to great effect in the future on races with fewer people paying attention.

I will be 0% surprised if the goalposts are moved yet again once this federal lawsuit is thrown out. who the hell knows if this dude will ever get his seat.

it's a lovely precedent: as long as you refuse to concede and keep asking the next court up to look at it, your opponent can never be seated!
