Is there any tool for aggregating long Mastodon into a more tractable reading format? Sort of like birdsite's ThreadReader?

I can (and have) manually tweaked page styles using Firefox's element inspector.

I suppose I could write a Stylus CSS entry and toggle that on or off on threads, though that's still a bit awkward.

Mostly it's a matter of:

  • Restyling the main page to dark-on-light.
  • Removing the side columns.
  • Widening the central column (60--80 em or so as a maxwidth setting seems to work).
  • Individually nuking the various post-element features (avatar, status line, actions, etc.).

Another option might be to exclude any toots that aren't from the original author on the thread. I'm not sure that's going to be possible in straight CSS.

Might be a good fit for a browser extension.

And yes, it makes reading far less of a chore.

Nice ideas, @dredmorbius!
