hey academic Fediverse and #ScholarSocial,
does anyone have any data / data analysis examples they would feel comfortable sharing w newly started doctoral students? are they posted online somewhere?
e.g. I will be sharing pseudonymized excerpts fr my fieldnotes (ethnographic participant-observation methods) + examples of how I analysed (based on Clarke's Situational Analysis)

@ckohtala Are there established standards within your discipline?

Does your programme include any data / research methods coursework? Are they within or external to the department?

I'd strongly recommend asking an advisor / faculty member.

If there is no established standard ... you get to create your own!

(I'd suggest working off a similar discipline, and paying attention to methods, ethics, and tools specifically.)

Ethnographic field notes sound strongly similar to sociology or anthropology, which both have extensive analytic traditions which should prove useful.
