All this fuss about SolarWinds and still nobody in the C-suites have figured out that there is no way for cloud compute nodes to ever be secure from sufficiently centralised prying eyes.

I wonder how many years it will take before the scale of compromise caused by cloud compute is revealed.

Cloud capabilities would only be deployed by the American military, not Chinese or Russians, and only against people the US military-industrial-cyberklept complex doesn't like, so it might be *many* years.

But just imagine, for speculation's sake:

* if you ran a warehouse full of computers that almost everyone used

* if you controlled that compute environment down to the system boards and hypervisor firmware

* if your knowledge of this environment were classified "to preserve privacy"

* if quietly scanning compute nodes' RAM might tell you interesting things that highly classified agencies would be interested in and would pay you for

* what information might those agencies be able to gather?

Well as long as your company never does, says or thinks anything that sufficiently authorised people at the top of the US military-intelligence community don't like - either now or in the future - you've got absolutely nothing to worry about, I guess.

I still can't reconcile in my head that Israel likes fascists now.

Although it's been true for quite a while. Going back to arms deals in the late 1940s, if some reports are to be believed.

But it still doesn't make any sense.

If you look at Stern Gang and Irgun, you can see the roots.
