discord is a corporation
the developer of discord.py is formally deprecating the project, and the only path forward would be for someone else to make a different version under a new name.
essentially, they've been in a constant battle with Discord staff and had their requests completely ignored, and with the latest changes to the API, they have lost all motivation to work on the project. because no one else they trust was able to take over ownership, they're shutting it down.
they made a big post on GitHub about it if you want to read the full story. it's a mess: https://gist.github.com/Rapptz/4a2f62751b9600a31a0d3c78100287f1
from what it seems, there's a good chance that a lot of major Discord bots will not work when the deadline in April 2022 comes by and Discord wants all the bots to switch to the new API. and there's not much you can really do about it
If I want to make a database publicly available (on the web), what would be the best way? Besides just downloadable .sqlite files. If it's say 50MB to 500MB, it's to much to download and do the queries client side with JS. But a DB Server would be overkill and risky.
Maybe split it up and have each table as static json. And then have multiple version so you don't have to download it all if you make a reasonable selection.
I do a bit of nerd stuff, editing SVGs file manually, playing games by myself, coding a bit, maybe some electronic stuff, math. Generally not sure about things.
