Did some more #aquarelle #painting today, two of them inspired by this scene from Baldur's Gate [assets.rockpapershotgun.com] since I just love the colour combinations on the foliage, and have wanted to recreate it ever since I first played the game over 20 years ago.
Another is just some random clouds and flower field thing to test the absorption rate and blending quality of a new water colour pad I got at #SøstreneGrene today.
I've put the Baldur's Gate #aquarelle under the #scanner last night; I think I actually like the results from photographing it with my phone better. The #Canon #MG2550S makes it look rather pale, and some of the brush strokes seem to stand out more?
It can probably be improved quite a bit in post-processing, but I was hoping for better results straight out of the box.
(I also need to do manual cropping, as it doesn't recognise the borders well enough...)
Fellow #artists, any recommendations when scanning or otherwise #digitising your work?
@FiXato Phone looks often better, because the algorithm does a good amount of post-pro on every image.
Most important thing is good lighting. Visibility of brush strokes depend a lot on the direction of your light source, so you could try different angles.
@MartinLeurs
different angle is a good point! Hadn't considered that, thanks!
