So you just arrived here from twitter and it's quiet. Real quiet. That's because there's no algorithm here designed to drive engagement(which equals profit).
Here, you are the algorithm. It's up to you to find and follow people that are interesting to you. You can also see who they follow and who else follows them, as you build it up, it gets more interesting.
Also, if you find people you don't like or entire instances you don't like, you can mute or block them. You are in control.
@LottieVixen Hey so I can't log into toot.cat on any of my other devices. This one was already logged in which is how I have access now, but anywhere else I am simply sent back to whatever page I was on when I attempt to log in. No errors or anything :/
@LottieVixen o hai I didn't realize you helped admin this mastodon! Awesomeeeee!
I guess mastodon instances can fill in here somewhat but Tumblr's got a much nicer UX for that sort of content.
The Declaration of War against Cryptography (aka "The 2nd War against Cryptography") has been issued by the "Five Eyes":
Some choice extracts as an image for posterity attached to this toot and the close:
"Should governments continue to encounter impediments to lawful access to information necessary to aid the protection of the citizens of our countries, we may pursue technological, enforcement, legislative or other measures to achieve lawful access solutions."
